Big Picture: Where are we?
Mintwood landscaping is partially approved. Working through the invasive plat issues at Duncan.

Corp Update

  • We took delivery of the plywood from Allegheny Plywood (Apco). They were kind enough to sell to us at a substantial discount for HackPgh (a registered 501(c)(3)). This past weekend, we had the first day of construction, where we did a ton of cutting and joint milling. Probably 1 more solid day (3-4 people) to complete the project.
  • New tenants in CA seem to be settling in OK after some initial hiccups.
  • I’ve spent a lot of time at Duncan recently dealing with invasive plants. The Kudzu was running wild and had already overtaken the entire back yard. After some targeted herbicide and a ton of hours spent weeding the entire lot by hand, we have it mostly under control. Still need to do some landscape remediation (replant the roses that died, add some lavender, and do some mulching) but we’re heading the right direction.
  • We’ve received DOMI clearances for the landscape work at Mintwood. Still waiting on Zoning Board review. I’ve also reached out to the neighbors just to make sure everyone is still on board. Our mason has gone dark, but I’ve pulled in someone else I know to take point on the concrete work and getting the block wall set.
  • North Hills plaster job is complete.

Goals for week of 26 June

  • Hope to get feedback from zoning re: landscape plans. I believe this would represent final approval to move forward.
  • Continue landscaping at Duncan
  • Continue work on truck loader (winch setup for loading heavy things into the truck)
  • Tax preparations
