Big Picture: Where are we?
Assessing new properties, cleaning up punch lists. Gonna be like that for a while.

Goals from week of 13 Feb

  • Build 3D model of trim that could be exported to CNC software. {underway}
  • Tax preparations {not started}
  • Significant backlog of office work that has been put off for the last several months. {in progress}

Corp Update

  • I found a new makerspace which is much better suited to my needs. HackPgh is a 503(c) group with a decent sized shop in the Hill District. They have a woodshop with most everything I need, as well as welding and metalworking facilities. I’m now working on my CNC skills to build the 3D model I need to produce the trim for the stairs.
  • We lost heat at one of the properties this week. The issue seemed to be an incompatibility between the Nest thermostat and the 60+ year old boiler. We replaced the thermostat with a different unit (EcoBee) and we’ll see how that goes.
  • Working on some of the punch list at Duncan St. (Shed repairs, changing locks, etc.) The tenant is obviously already in the unit, but this stuff was not “critical path” to getting it ready for him to move in, so here we are.

Goals for week of 27 February

  • Continue work on 3D model of trim that could be exported to CNC software. Goal is to get out and cut a first run of at least one part.
  • Tax preparations
  • Shed repairs and Duncan punch list.
